Livingcia Williams is the Office Assistant for My Autism Connection (MAC). Motivated by her interest in Psychology and Human Behavior, she currently studies at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) where she majors in Forensic Studies with a minor in Psychology and has dedicated over 150 volunteer hours.
Livingcia began her journey with MAC in 2021, volunteering in the office by answering phone calls and emails, exploring autism resources, and completing various tasks to benefit the organization. Through her daily volunteering, she gained a comprehensive understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the SWFL community and within three months of her volunteer position, Livingcia was offered an internship, working directly with the autistic adults that MAC serves. This experience allowed her to communicate directly with the members and learn first-hand about Autism Spectrum Disorder, establishing the underpinnings for what was to follow soon. While assisting the organization as a volunteer and intern simultaneously, Livingcia maintained her long-term position as a Receptionist at a local Assisted Living Facility in which she communicated with families and residents daily, enhancing her client relation skills. These experiences prepared Livingcia for her next accomplishment in which she was offered to officially join the MAC team as a staff member.
Livingcia now holds the Office Assistant title at MAC and serves a vital role as she is the direct line to the SWFL community – answering phone calls and emails, communicating with professionals in the community, and assisting autistic adults and their families in navigating an autism diagnosis. Livingcia is proud to be a part of the innovative work that she has always strived for.
