Guided Nature Walk

Join us on a free, guided nature walk at the Six Mile Cypress Slough North led by Slough staff. Not only will we be getting some fresh air and some light exercise in during this walk, but our guide will also conduct activities such as sound mapping and nature awareness while discussing and looking for the plants and wildlife in the area.

REMINDERS

Attire

• You must wear closed-toed shoes – we recommend sneakers that you don’t mind getting dirty due to muddy areas
• You must wear long pants (no shorts, skirts, etc.) due to grassy areas (but be comfortable for walking!)
• Check the weather for the day – if it is going to be warm, avoid long sleeve shirts/black clothing as this can cause you to overheat
• If you are sensitive to heat/sun, remember to wear sunglasses/hats and bring a portable fan

What To Bring

• We recommend wearing/bringing sunscreen
• We recommend bringing a water bottle as you will not have access to water otherwise for the duration of the walk

Other Things To Note

• Use the restroom before arriving as there are not any bathrooms upon arrival or along the trail
• End time is subject to change depending on how it takes us to get through the walk – should be around 12:30PM/1PM
• Parking is free 😊
